    Briana Gilbreath of the women's basketball team and Murphy Troy on the men's volleyball team were named the USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week today (Jan. 25) for the week of Jan. 18-24.

    The sophomore Gilbreath helped lead the women's basketball team to a road sweep at Washington and Washington State by scoring 30 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, dishing out seven assists and making nine steals. She scored 10 of her 13 points after halftime in USC's 69-65 comeback win at Washington on Jan. 21. Gilbreath then totaled 17 points, grabbed nine rebounds and made four steals in the comeback win at Washington State on Jan. 23.

    The junior Troy registered 37 kills to help lead USC to a pair of 3-0 sweeps at the Galen Center over Long Beach State and UC San Diego. In the win over No. 8 Long Beach State on Jan. 20, he had a team-high 20 kills and recorded six digs. Troy then posted a match-high 17 kills and had four digs and three blocks in the win vs. UC San Diego on Jan. 22. The Trojans have matched their best overall and league start since the 2000 season.
