USC men's tennis alum Steve Johnson is enjoying one of the most successful weeks of his professional career. Against an elite field in Washington D.C., Johnson knocked off No. 5 John Isner and No. 9 Ivo Karlovic in third set tiebreakers.

Isner and Karlovic are two of the biggest servers on tour, and combined to ace Johnson 56 times, but he survived to face No. 2 Milos Raonic in the quarterfinals.  Unfortunately for Johnson, the challenge remains the same as Raonic is right next to Isner and Karlovic as the three biggest servers on the ATP Tour.
