Strahan to the Reds

Junior ace right-hander Wyatt Strahan was selected with the 94th overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2014 MLB Draft today by the Cincinnati Reds.  He is the highest drafted Trojan since Robert Stock went in the 2nd round in 2009.

Strahan was the horse of the rotation this season leading the Trojans to a breakout campaign with a 3.28 ERA over 104.1 innings pitched, which was 31.1 more than any teammate.  He paced the pitching staff in strikeouts (89), wins (6) and shutouts (1).

Robert Stock never lived up to his hype coming out of high school a year early to enroll at USC. Switched to pitching during his career at Troy. Any idea where he is in baseball today? Believe drafted by the Cardinals as a junior. Hope Strahan smart enough to comeback for his senior year.
