The top two women's volleyball teams in the world will face off at the Galen Center on July 6th in the USA Volleyball Cup. The game will be the second of four challenge matches between the two squads that met in the gold-medal match of the 2012 London Olympics. Two of USC's all-time greats, Nicole Davis and Natalie Hagglund, will take the court with Team USA.
Brazil defeated the U.S. women's team in the last two Olympic gold-medal matches, and the U.S. team is hungry for revenge. Davis is a two-time silver medalist with Team USA and a back-to-back NCAA title winner at USC in 2002 and 2003. Hagglund, a three-time All-American, recently wrapped up her Trojan career as the program's all-time leader for digs (2,362). The pair will compete with a U.S. team that has occupied one of the top two spots in the world rankings since 2008.
Come out and show your support for Team USA! The match will be played on July 6th at 5 pm PT. Tickets will go on sale this month at usavolleyball.org.
