No. 16 USC women's tennis should expect to be greeted rudely by its hosts in Athens as the Women of Troy take on No. 1 Georgia in the NCAA Sweet 16.  The Trojans are in the Round of 16 for the third consecutive year, but to advance to the national quarterfinals, they will need to slay one of the sport's giants.

USC came into the season as one of the national favorites, but the Women of Troy were relegated to underdog status once their top player Sabrina Santamaria was lost to a knee injury.  Now, the Trojans rely on Zoe Scandalis who is coming off a strong showing at the conference tournament as the Pac-12 runner-up.

For USC to pull off the upset, depth and doubles will be the key.  New pairing Kaitlyn Christian and Giuliana Olmos won the Pac-12 doubles title, while Olmos and Gabriella DeSimone are a combined 27-8 in dual match singles play.

The Women of Troy will battle Georgia at 1 p.m. PT tomorrow.  Click here for NCAA Tournament Central.
