Moving Day

No. 1 USC women's golf needed to make a move on day three of the NCAA Championships, and the Women of Troy did just that by shooting 2-under as a team to climb up to second on the leaderboard.  The defending champs will begin the final round six strokes behind Duke.

Once again, the Trojans were led by junior Doris Chen who shot a 2-under 68 and now sits tied atop the individual standings. She is looking to make it back-to-back individual champions for USC after Annie Park topped the field last year.

While Chen has been the rock all week, senior Sophia Popov (pictured) was the key today. The captain's score was dropped each of the first two rounds after she posted ugly 79s, and she was going down the same road with four bogeys on the front side today, but she caught fire on the home stretch making four birdies in five holes to finish even par for the round.

Sophomore Kyung Kim also found her game today. She made five birdies on the back nine to post the round of the day at 3-under 67.

The Women of Troy are within striking distance with 18 holes to go.
