Document Name_041514_McGillen_2.JPGName: Toa Lobendahn

Position: OL

Class: Freshman

Size: 6-foot-3 and 290 pounds

Age: 18

High School: La Habra (Cerritos, CA)

Game: Lobendahn has been praised for both his sharp mind and his physicality.  He is also a versatile prospect who could play any of the three interior positions along the offensive line. He is "cool with either" center or guard, and wants to add more weight before the season.

Prep Career: Lobendahn graduated early after a sterling high school career which earned him a spot in the U.S. Army All-American Game. He played on both lines as a senior at La Habra after transferring from Lakewood.

Spring Ball: About a third of the way through spring practice, Lobendahn was inserted into the starting lineup at guard.  He earned valuable experience battling against elite defensive linemen and playing between veterans Max Tuerk and Chad Wheeler. Lobendahn will be pushed by Jordan Simmons, Aundrey Walker and the incoming freshmen during Fall Camp, but he has an advantage with 15 practices in this new system.

Sark on Lobendahn: "He continues to improve. It's not easy. It's not easy when you're supposed to be a senior in high school, and you are blocking Antwaun Woods and those guys and Hayes Pullard. But he has steadily improved. I've been impressed with Toa and what he's done as a true freshman."
