The Path Is Set

In the latest ESPN.com Bracketology, USC women's basketball is listed as one of the "first teams out" of the NCAA Tournament.  The Women of Troy won at Utah and Colorado last week to close out the regular season at 18-12 overall and 11-7 in conference.

The Trojans have one more chance to bolster their resume and get off the bubble this week at the Pac-12 Tournament in Seattle (March 6-9 on Pac-12 Networks and ESPN).  No. 5 USC will open with No. 12 Arizona on Thursday at 2:30 p.m., and the winner is in line to face No. 4 Arizona State on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

If the Women of Troy can secure two victories and reach the 20-win mark, conventional wisdom has USC dancing in the first year under head coach Cynthia Cooper-Dyke.  The program has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2006.
