Texas Forever

No. 6 USC women's tennis needed every last serve, smash and volley to put away Texas in Austin on Sunday.  Down 3-2, the Women of Troy got clutch singles wins from veterans Kaitlin Christian and Zoe Scandalis to complete the comeback.

The Trojans were put in an early hole when their top player Sabrina Santamaria was forced to retire from her singles match just a game into the action.  The back-and-forth results set the stage for Scandalis who won a gritty three-setter 6-4 in the final frame to emerge as the hero.

The stage is now set for a rivalry clash at Marks Stadium on Friday between No. 2 UCLA and No. 6 USC.  The drama begins at 3 p.m.

The captain came through in the clutch.
