A Veteran Presence

USC baseball is pushing for a breakthrough season depending mostly on youngsters, particularly in the lineup, but senior Kevin Swick is a steadying force.  He has started all 10 games hitting .364 with 7 RBI and a team-leading 8 runs scored.

Swick jacked up his production this past week going 7-for-12 at the dish including 3-for-4 with two doubles, three runs and three RBI in Sunday's 16-0 win over No. 11 Cal Poly.  For his efforts, he earned Pac-12 Player of the Week for the first time in his career.

Swick will lead the Trojans to Irvine tonight (6:30 p.m.) for a showdown with former USC head coach Mike Gillespie and the Anteaters.
