Trojans at the 2014 Combine

All seven Trojans wrapped up positive experiences at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis this week.  Up next, all the aspiring players will show off their skills at USC Pro Day on March 12.

Here's how each Trojan fared at the Combine:

WR Marqise Lee - 4.52 40-yd dash, 38" vertical and 127" broad jump

Lee's broad jump was the third best performance by any receiver.  According to scouts, his overall workout solidified his position as the likely second overall receiver taken behind Clemson's Sammy Watkins.

OLB Devon Kennard - 4.70 40-yd dash, 23 bench press reps, 30" vertical and 113" broad jump

Kennard was one of the busiest Trojans at the Combine competing in every possible drill.  He posted a solid 40 time, and weighed in at a lean and mean 249 pounds.

C Marcus Martin - 23 bench press reps

Coming back from the knee injury he suffered against UCLA, Martin was limited to the bench press and interview sessions.  He is expected to do more at USC Pro Day.  Nevertheless, NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock lists Martin as the best center in the draft.

S Dion Bailey - 4.66 40-yd dash, 34" vertical and 113" broad jump

Bailey had to wait until the final day to participate, but he made it count competing in every possible drill.  While some scouts see him as a "tweener", Bailey's instincts and ball skills are desirable traits.

DL George Uko - 4.99 40-yd dash, 18 bench press reps, 29.5" vertical and 110" broad jump

Uko trimmed down for the Combine showing that he can be a defensive end at the next level.  He is projected to be a late round pick.

RB Silas Redd - 4.70 40-yd dash, 18 bench press reps, 37" vertical and 122" broad jump

Redd impressed scouts with his muscular physique which put aside any notions that he is a scat back.  He'll have the opportunity to improve on his 40 time at Pro Day, but his vertical leap was impressive.

TE Xavier Grimble - 26.5" vertical and 113" broad jump

X elected not to run at the Combine, so Pro Day will be big for his stock.  Coming off an injury-plagued season, he needs to show off his athleticism to move up draft boards.
