En route to the final, USC defeated Sonoma State (26-2), Cal State Northridge (13-0) and No. 10 Arizona State (10-4).  In the championship match, the Trojans took out No. 5 UC Irvine (8-3) led by All-American Monica Vavic who had three goals.
