USC water polo head coach Jovan Vavic is a big basketball fan, and he loves to draw parallels between the sports.  When it comes to his son Nikola, he compares his game to his hardwood hero Magic Johnson.

Like the legendary point guard, Nikola has the complete skill set to make his team better whether the situation requires a shot, pass or steal.  And similar to the five-time NBA champion and three-time MVP, Nikola leaves USC as one of the most decorated athletes in its 125 years of history.

Vavic was named National Player of the Year for the second time after leading the Trojans to an NCAA four-peat.  He is also the program's all-time leading goal scorer.

Vavic was joined on the All-American First Team by junior Kostas Genidounias, who could threaten Vavic's career scoring record next season.  Mace Rapsey and James Clark are Second Team All-Americans, while Jeremy Davie made the Third Team, and Connor Virjee earned Honorable Mention.
