Carlson Sets the Pace

USC senior swimmer Kasey Carlson became the program's first ever Pac-12 champion in the 50y free Thursday leading the Women of Troy to an overall second place standing after two days.  Carlson broke her own school record in the 50y free en route to her second career Pac-12 title, claiming the crown in 21.74, 0.16 below her previous best.

"The women are crawling back into the team race after a sub par morning," USC head coach Dave Salo said. "They are fighting to give it a strong Trojan effort. Kasey was awesome, as was the relay. Diving had a very strong evening, too."

Diving's strength came in the 1m as Haley Ishimatsu finished third and Sam Adams scored fifth.  The action continues Friday and Saturday as the Women of Troy try to track down Stanford for the Pac-12 title.
