Rooting for Seattle and Denver

In terms of active Trojans, the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos are the Super Bowl of choice for USC.

The NFC's No. 1 seed features linebackers Malcolm Smith and Michael Morgan, and of course, a USC-heavy coaching staff led by Pete Carroll.  The AFC's top seed features Winston Justice as a reserve lineman for Peyton Manning, and legendary LB Jack Del Rio is the defensive coordinator.

Smith made 9 tackles in last week's playoff victory, while Morgan is featuring mostly on special teams.  The Seahawks also have former USC TE Anthony McCoy on injured reserve.

The 49ers have Brandon Carswell and the Patriots have Armond Armstead on injured reserve, but no active players on San Francisco or New England list USC as their alma mater.

A Trojan has appeared in all but 5 of the 47 Super Bowls (there have been 104 USC representatives overall).  It is up to the Seahawks and/or Broncos to add to that heritage.

Smith (left) and Morgan (right) are expected to suit up for the NFC Championship Game.
