As the NBA season nears its midway point, the Toronto Raptors are the surprise of the Eastern Conference thanks in large part to DeMar DeRozan.  The Trojan is averaging a career-high 21.2 points per game which ranks 13th in the NBA.

While the Raptors were supposed to be in rebuilding mode, DeRozan has led the franchise to a 17-17 mark which places them No. 4 in the Eastern Conference.  They are also one of the hottest teams in the league winning 10 of the last 14.

DeRozan is one of a handful of Trojans thriving in the NBA this season.  Nick Young is the Lakers' leading scorer at 16.4 points per game, while Nikola Vucevic is the Orlando Magic's top rebounder (11.0 per contest).  Also, Taj Gibson is the Bulls best rim protector at 1.4 blocks per game.

DeRozan will be in Los Angeles on February 7 against the Clippers, while Gibson will play Young and the Lakers at STAPLES on February 9.  Vucevic is next in town March 23 to square off against the Lakers.
