Sark Adds Washington Three

USC head coach Steve Sarkisian announced the addition of assistant coaches Johnny Nansen, Keith Heyward and Peter Sirmon who were all with him in Washington.  Sarkisian plans to name the remainder of his coaching staff in the near future, at which time specific titles and job responsibilities will be announced for each coach.

"I'm fired up to have Johnny, Keith and Peter join the staff, as well as keeping Tee on board," said Sarkisian. "We're on the right path in putting together one of the best coaching staffs in America."

Nansen was a jack-of-all-trades serving under Sarkisian at Washington for five seasons in a variety of roles including special teams and recruiting coordinator.  Most recently, he was the running backs coach guiding Bishop Sankey to a 1,700-yard season.

Heyward was the Huskies' secondary coach the past two seasons, and the pass defense took a gigantic leap in his first year from No. 116 in the nation in 2011 to No. 23 in 2012.  Before UW, he coached defensive backs at Oregon State for four seasons.

Sirmon served as Sarkisian's linebackers' coach the last two years and recruiting coordinator this past season.  He was an NFL linebacker for seven seasons with the Tennessee Titans after a solid career at the University of Oregon.
