Former Trojan men's basketball player Daniel Hackett became the Italian League Championship Series MVP after leading his team, Montepaschi Siena, to the title on June 19.
The former USC point guard averaged 14.2 points per game in the postseason, improving on his 8.2 points per game average through the regular season. In the 19 games played by Siena en route to the team's eighth title in the last ten years, Hackett averaged 4.5 assists and 3.8 rebounds.
As a starting point guard for USC from 2007-09, Hackett averaged 8.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists. He was voted second team All-Pac-10 in 2009 and his 363 career assists rank fifth all-time by a Trojan.
