Rowing Clears First Hurdle

No. 1 USC women's rowing is a third of the way to the program's first ever national championship.  All three boats won their morning preliminary heats to advance to Saturday's semifinals in Indianapolis.

While the Women of Troy are taking it one day at a time, they know expectations are at an all-time high.

"We've never been ranked No. 1 for this long in a season," said Pac-12 Athlete of the Year Melanie Grindle. "Obviously we want to win the national championship and make history for our school. The opportunity to win our first national championship is really motivating and exciting."

The varsity four boat easily raced past the competition today.
