While Espar set off the celebration with a game-winning fireball from a seemingly impossible distance, junior goalie Flora Bolonyai made the opportunity possible by blanking the Cardinal in the final three sudden death overtimes.  In all, Bolonyai made a career-high 17 saves, which earned her NCAA Tournament MVP honors.

The legendary Jovan Vavic has now led USC water polo to a dozen national championships, four for the women and eight for the men, and he has the unique honor of winning with his junior son Nikola (three times) and his sophomore daughter Monica.  He has also pulled off the men's and women's double NCAA title in the same academic year for the fourth time.
