Name: Justin Davis
Size: 6-foot-1 and 215 pounds
High School: Lincoln (Stockton, CA)
Game: Davis is a smooth runner that fits immediately into USC's system. He is not a blazer or monster power back, but he brings balance and patience which gives the offensive line time to open up holes for the neophyte. He describes himself as a "one cut" runner who "relies on my vision a lot."
Prep Career: Davis had an outstanding high school career running the ball 274 times with 39 touchdowns and 2,613 yards his junior year, followed by 229 carries for 23 touchdowns and 1,806 yards his senior year. Among other awards, he was chosen as a US Army All-American.
Spring Ball: In just the second practice, head coach Lane Kiffin heaped praise on Davis. He ran for just 11 yards on four carries in the first scrimmage but made a big play leaking out as a receiver for a screen pass. He broke a finger last week which kept him out of the second scrimmage.
To Quote Davis: "It started out at first that I was kinda lost. I am starting to get the hang of the thing. It comes down to its just football. I've been playing it my whole life."
