USC men's basketball has arrived in Las Vegas for the Pac-12 Tournament, and the Trojans enjoyed a spirited practice culminating in a slam dunk session at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Despite not having suspended centers Dewayne Dedmon and James Blasczyk, Bob Cantu anticipates that the Trojans will have enough depth in 7-foot-2 center Omar Oraby and power forwards Eric Wise and Aaron Fuller to cover the front court. Plus, he can move Ari Stewart, who is back from his thumb injury, to a big man spot if needs be.
"You have to always be prepared to adjust," said interim head coach Bob Cantu about replacing two big men. "I still feel confident that we can still have success in the tournament."
USC is hoping to win the conference tournament for the second time in school history. The Trojans ran the table with an undermanned group in 2009 to earn an NCAA bid, and they have been the runners-up three times since the tournament returned in 2002.
No. 7 USC and No. 10 Utah will tip-off Wednesday at 6 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Networks with the winner advancing to play No. 2 Cal at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
