Going Green

USC baseball needed something to change its luck Sunday, so St. Patrick's Day could not have been more perfectly timed.  Usually, Trojans are battling the "luck of the Irish," but for one game at least, the Cardinal and Gold went green to spark a 5-3 defeat of No. 16 Oregon.

Donning the hats below, USC rode a pair of freshmen, starting pitcher Kyle Twomey and shortstop Blake Lacey, to victory.  Twomey pitched eight innings giving up only two earned runs on five hits, while Lacey stroked three hits and scored a run.  Junior catcher Jake Hernandez's three-run double was the decisive blow.
