In the first ever sand volleyball match-up between the crosstown rivals, USC trumped UCLA in both the team dual match and the pairs tournament final at Merle Norman Stadium. The Women of Troy earned five points towards defending the Gauntlet, which the Bruins currently lead 42.5 to 37.5.

No. 3 USC women's sand volleyball defeated No. 6 UCLA and Loyola Marymount, but lost a tough battle with No. 2 Long Beach State on Saturday. The Women of Troy are now 5-2 as a team this season.
In the bracket tournament on Sunday, the Trojans' top pair of Kirby Burnham and Stevi Robinson defeated UCLA's Meg Norton and Kelly Reeves to capture the final. USC's Katie Fuller and Cinnamon Sary took third place.

Can you please give a more comprehensive update on the gauntlet. The coverage of the standings is so spotty. What is left in the year? Hopefully, it will come down to men's tennis, those guys know what to do with pressure. :)
