On a busy weekend for USC athletics, women's water polo stole the show by knocking off No. 3 UCLA and No. 1 Stanford en route to winning the UCI Invitational Championship.  When the new poll comes out, Jovan Vavic will likely have another national No. 1 ranking thanks to a perfect 12-0 start to the season.

In both the semifinals and finals, the Women of Troy were paced offensively by freshman Anni Espar who scored seven times against the Bruins and Cardinal combined.  In a match-up of Olympic freshmen in the final, Espar outshone Stanford's Maggie Steffens as the Trojans broke open an 8-8 tie to win 13-10.

Espar's Spain lost to Steffens' USA in the Gold Medal Match at London 2012.
