The peristyle end of the Coliseum is one of the most iconic backdrops in college football. However, the temperature gauge has become a bit of a running joke for Trojan fans since the thermometer has pointed to 70 degrees for years now.Well, USC engineering students Charles Palmer, Ryan Magruder, David Cape and Andrew Ezarik decided to do something about it. Inspired by their senior project for the Viterbi School's Department of Mechanical Engineering, the group went to work on a project that would become their Trojan legacy.

"I thought it'd be really cool to end my senior project with fixing the place I spent most of my Saturdays," said David Cape, who was a member of the Trojan Marching Band.
