Correcting the Daily News Story

In regards to the story posted today in the Daily News about Lane Kiffin and Kennedy Polamalu, there are a number of inaccuracies in the reporting.

Of note, Kiffin and Polamalu DID converse several times both before and after Polamalu was released last week from his coaching duties.  The article, which cites nothing but unnamed "sources" throughout, mistakenly states that "Kiffin never called him and still hasn't spoken to him regarding his dismissal."

Furthermore, the article asserts again via unnamed "sources" that Kiffin and Polamalu had a "heated argument" two days before the Sun Bowl in El Paso.  No such exchange occurred.

At no time did the author of this story attempt to contact Lane Kiffin to verify the accuracy of these claims.

Why bother asking the biggest liar in USC athletics ?

Written by Scott Wolf. Say no more. This guy constantly bashes the Trojans.

Maybe Heritage Hall could've taken this same approach when the NCAA, ESPiN, Yahoo, etc. were disseminating their falsehoods about USC instead of sitting on it's collective hands, you wouldn't have to defend Kiffin at every turn.

Finally!!! What the hell took so long. We have to read all this negative stories by this bush league "reporter" all the time. He always and I mean ALWAYS quotes unnamed sources. Nothing but LIES!!!!!

Why not ban Scott wolf from usc football than? This is ridiculous. It seems that usc ad Haden is either too busy for football or doesn't care about it.

why does USC continue to give this FOOL access to the program? NO ONE LIKES THIS EXCUSE FOR SLIME

This statement by usctrojans . com seems like a bunch of BS. I would like to see Coach Polamalu interviewed by some independent sources to get to the bottom of this and to hear the truth.
Haden is an idiot for handling things the way he has so far. The entire athletics program is going to hell!

Proactive PR from USC Athletics? Great job, Jordan. But, Dave Leisen is absolutely correct: "Maybe Heritage Hall could've taken this same approach when the NCAA, ESPiN, Yahoo, etc. were disseminating their falsehoods about USC instead of sitting on it's collective hands, you wouldn't have to defend Kiffin at every turn."

Does USC Athletics have a PR function other than Tim Tessalone and SID? If not, we really need one as I have never seen a brand take as much abuse without fighting back as USC has over the years. Perhaps they should hire you, Jordan, as PR Manager for HH? With all of the vast resources of Annenberg Communications, it is stupefying that HH can't produce a 21st century PR capability to protect and promote the USC Athletics brand in the digital age of media.

What motivates this person to write the things he does is something I hope I never want to know.

You stick it to 'em, USC Ripsit Blog. We, the fans of UCLA, really hope that Scott Wolf gets his stuff together. How dare he bash one of the greatest coaches ever to grace USC. On behalf of UCLA fans everywhere, we approve of this defense of Lane Kiffin and hope to see him coach the Trojans moving forward, now and forever. Please extend his contract with a lucrative deal.
