As the calendar turns from January to February this week, the United States will celebrate Black History Month.  And this Sunday, Colin Kaepernick will attempt to become the second African-American quarterback to win a Super Bowl.

On that same subject, did you know that USC QB Jimmy Jones was the first ever African-American QB to grace the cover of Sports Illustrated?  After winning the Rose Bowl to cap an undefeated 1969 season, Jones led the Trojans "all-black" backfield in 1970 featuring RB Clarence Davis and FB Sam "Bam" Cunningham.

Side note to this photo: USC was wearing a helmet sticker to commemorate 100 years of college football.  USC football did not start until 1888.
