USC student-athletes hit the books this past semester and the results were historically good. Here are the boast-worthy facts and figures...
- The 2.89 average term GPA for for all student-athletes was the highest fall semester GPA for student-athletes recorded in at least the last 20 years.
- Sixteen of the 21 teams had semester GPAs that exceeded its team's average cumulative GPA. Ten of 21 teams had over a 3.0 average semester GPA.
- Roughly half the student-athletes (320) had at least a 3.0 or higher semester GPA, which is the second highest total in the last 20 years. Of those, 128 made the Dean's list, which is the highest number on record. Thirteen student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA for the semester.
"I care very deeply about graduation rates and academic success as part of the greater goal of this athletic department within the university as a whole. And, we are proud to boast the best academic semester for the athletic department in the last two decades," said Athletic Director Pat Haden.
