Robey Going Pro

Junior CB Nickell Robey will forego his final season in favor of entering the 2013 NFL Draft.

Click here for the first report by the LA Times' Gary Klein.

Robey tweeted his thanks to the Trojan Family: "USC to the death of me.  Thanx 4 everything. Love y'all.  Fight on!"

The Florida native shared a strong bond with Lane Kiffin, who recruited him to Tennessee before taking the job at Troy.  "He respected my decision," Robey said about Kiffin to Klein.  "It's the best thing for my family and for me."

Despite his diminutive stature, he started all three seasons with seven career interceptions, including a pick-six in each year.  He is not expected to be a top round pick, but with his work ethic, character and athleticism, he hopes to impress the scouts.

"This is an opportunity," Robey told the LA Times.  "Nothing is guaranteed to anybody.  They can make a lot of predictions, but nothing is guaranteed."
