After a season gone wrong, Lane Kiffin opened up to LA Times columnist T.J. Simers last night about what the head coach can do to make it right.
While he understands the public misconceptions about his stoic sideline demeanor, he made it clear that it's all a facade. "Believe me, I understand the pain, and what a loss means to the USC family. It looks like I don't care, and I get that. But inside I'm suffering just like everyone else," he told Simers. "But as head coach, I don't believe it's in the best interests of the team if I go in the tank."

He also knows that he is a magnet for controversy, so he must take "the Kiffin factor" into account going forward. "I know it's my fault there's a Kiffin factor because I've made mistakes. I wear a hoodie in the biting cold, which has nothing to do with completing a second-down pass, but I get criticized. I get it. Bill Belichick wears one the following Sunday and it's no big deal."
The administration has been clear and steadfast in its support of Kiffin, so now the pressure is on the head coach to restore the faith of the Trojan Family. "I also know I owe the USC family something better. And we can do that."

What a joke...Nobody believes in this dude. When are the boosters going to speak with their money...Pat Haden obviously doesnt get it. TJ Simmers hanging out with Lane Kiffin? hahahaha. Hey TJ why dont you do your job and report on a story that matters. Of course Kiffin cares. Hes making millions to coach, not buddy up with his QB and text jokes to the AD. When are we going to find out who the new offensive coordinator is? There better be one. When are we going to find out who the new defensive coordinator is? It isnt Lane is it? Meanwhile another local kid top 100 recruit decommits. Im sure Kiffin planned this interview to be released on the same day Kylie Fitts blasts the school.
