Crook Steals Victory

USC women's basketball appeared headed for overtime Sunday when Washington State hit a game-tying three pointer with four seconds left, but Ariya Crook was fouled with 0.8 seconds on the clock to give the Women of Troy two free throws for the win.  The sophomore guard calmly stepped to the line and sunk both shots to secure a perfect 4-0 start for the Trojans in Pac-12 play.

While USC is just 7-8 overall, the Women of Troy are tied for first place in the conference after sweeping the Oregon and Washington schools.  The program is off to its best start in the Pac-10/12 since the 2004-05 season.

The real test will come this week as Michael Cooper takes his team to the Bay Area for showdowns with No. 6 Stanford and No. 7 California. Both games can be viewed on Pac-12 Networks.

Crook jumped for joy at the final buzzer.
