For one night at least, No. 2 USC men's tennis shined a light on unheralded senior Michael Tang, who has selflessly served the program during this remarkable run in whatever capacity the team needed. While he may not have Steve Johnson's forehand or Daniel Nguyen's steely nerves, Tang played his role behind-the-scenes at a championship level.
Seeing an opportunity to give a senior a shot at glory, head coach Peter Smith put Tang in the lineup for Tuesday's match-up against UC Irvine. Despite the entire team rallying behind him, he came up short on the scoreboard.
Nevertheless, as you can see in the Trojan Spotlight below, Tang reveled in every moment of the experience.
