Rivals Rating - 5-stars (No. 1 QB, No. 4 Overall)

What else could Max Browne have accomplished before entering USC?  He was the Gatorade National Player of the Year, the USA Today All-USA Offensive Player of the Year and a U.S. Army All-American among countless other accolades.  He earned his reputation on the strength of back-to-back state championships.  As a senior, he passed for 4,526 yards and 49 touchdowns to only 5 interceptions.  Browne is exemplary off the field as well with a 3.50 GPA and an extensive community service record.

Spring Q.) Can he compete for the starting QB job right away?

While Max Wittek and Cody Kessler have a distinct advantage with two years in Lane Kiffin's system, Browne will have all semester to hit the playbook and show off his skills on the practice field.  He is the most highly touted quarterback to attend USC since Matt Barkley, who won the job as a true freshman.

Here is a video on Browne's life and prep career with a tribute to Troy at the end...
