USC Football got a jump start on its 2013 recruiting class with seven early enrollees.  Our profiles...

Darreus Rogers, WR, Carson HS (CA)

darreus-rogers.jpgSize - 6-foot-2 and 195 pounds

Rivals Rating - 4-stars (No. 29 Wide Receiver, No. 198 Overall)

Rogers was originally a member of the 2012 recruiting class, so his ratings above are in the context of last year's prospects.  He did not qualify for admission until the end of the first semester, but he was able to practice with the team before USC departed for the Sun Bowl, so he has a head start on even the other spring entrants.  Rogers caught 64 balls for 1,251 yards and 10 TDs in his final year of high school.  He was named first team MaxPreps All-State in 2011.

Spring Q.) Can he be a red zone target?

In the wake of Mike Williams and Dwayne Jarrett, USC recruited several tall receivers like Patrick Turner, David Ausberry and Kyle Prater who filled the red zone mold to varying degrees of success.  In the meantime, Lane Kiffin has struck gold with smaller targets like Robert Woods and Marqise Lee, but he would love to have a diversity of options.  Rogers may not be 6-foot-5, but he displayed the needed physicality in high school to be a touchdown target at the collegiate level.
