No. 4 - Soni Sets World Record
The USC athletics calendar never slowed in 2012 thanks to an Olympic summer which featured 41 current and past Trojans who hauled in 25 medals. For the second straight summer games, Rebecca Soni was one of America's golden girls.
After taking home a gold and two silvers from Beijing 2008, Soni was a marked woman in London. She responded to the challenge by blowing away the 200m breast stroke field in world record time becoming the first woman to ever eclipse the 2:20 mark in that race.
Before Soni's work was done across the pond, she added a relay gold and a 100m silver inking her name as the world's best breaststroker and a legendary Trojan.
