The Trojans participated in another physical and competitive practice in preparation for the Sun Bowl.
  • After another solid practice, head coach Lane Kiffin believes that a win in the Sun Bowl will help set the Trojans on the right path for the 2013 season. "We want to finish strong and win our last game. That will springboard us into a great off-season, sign a great recruiting class and get ready for spring ball," Kiffin said.
  • The Trojans are not reflecting on the 2012 season. Rather, they are approaching the Sun Bowl as another opportunity to make a statement. "We are not looking backwards, we are looking forward," Kiffin said. "We can't change the past so we have to accept what our record was and where that puts us. We have had two years of sitting around and not having a bowl game so we're excited for this opportunity."
  • Quarterback Matt Barkley is still expected to start against the Yellow Jackets in the bowl game though he has not extensively practiced. "Matt [Barkley] was out here today. As we have said all along, we don't plan on him practicing until we are down there," Kiffin said.
  • Sophomore wide receiver Marqise Lee is excited to play in his first bowl game and remarked that it is the perfect sendoff for the senior class. "Last year I was not able to play in one unfortunately. This game is our last chance to play with T.J. [McDonald], Matt [Barkley] and Khaled [Holmes]," Lee said. "It will be great to be in the bowl game, having fun and playing against Georgia Tech."
  • Junior cornerback Nickell Robey is awaiting his NFL evaluation before making his official decision on whether he will enter the 2013 NFL Draft. Robey is expected to receive his evaluation by the end of the week. "The evaluation is extremely important to me because the NFL scouts watching my film will give me the necessary feedback to make my decision," Robey said. "The more information I get, the easier it will be to decide."
