The Los Angeles City Council and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa dubbed today "USC Olympic Champion Day" and honored Trojan Olympians at City Hall.

Gold medalists Rebecca Soni (swimming) and Lauren Wenger (water polo), and silver medalists Haley Anderson (swimming), Josh Mance (track), Bryshon Nellum (track) and Nicole Davis (indoor volleyball) were among 11 Trojan Olympians in attendance alongside President C.L. Max Nikias.
"We couldn't be prouder," Villaraigosa said. "I'm a Bruin, but I've got an honorary doctorate from USC and I'm very proud of that. Today we honor these great Olympic athletes. We have one of the best universities in the world here in Los Angeles in USC. As a Bruin, I can tell you, I'm proud."
