USC freshman Anni Espar was named the European Water Polo Player of the Year after leading Spain to the silver medal at the 2012 London Olympics. She was the second leading goal scorer in the Olympic tournament.

Espar has still yet to suit up for the Trojans, whose season begins in the spring, but she already has an impressive resume. Teamed with Monica Vavic, who became the first USC women's water polo freshman since 1999 to be named a first team All-American, the Women of Troy should have an explosive offense this season.
