Heisman Worthy

Mark Sanchez, QB, Jets - 19/27 for 266 yards and 3 TDs to 1 INT for a 123.4 QB rating

Thumbnail image for Sanchez-McKay-MJ-SYR-PC.jpgAfter an offseason of non-stop drama in the media capital of the country, Sanchez quieted the critics with a sterling performance in week one.  The Jets did not score an offensive touchdown in the preseason, but Sanchez tossed for three scores in a 48-28 annihilation of the Buffalo Bills.  In all, USC quarterbacks threw nine touchdown passes over the weekend at MetLife Stadium.

Brian Cushing, LB, Texans - Stuffed the stat sheet: 7 tackles, a forced fumble and an interception

Clay Matthews, LB, Packers - 2.5 sacks to lead the NFL after week one

Nick Perry, LB, Packers - The rookie made 8 tackles at his new outside linebacker position

Matt Kalil, OT, Vikings - The first round pick started in his first NFL game which the Vikings won in overtime

Matt Cassel, QB, Chiefs - 21/33 for 258 yards and 2 TDs (1 rushing)

Keith Rivers, LB, Giants - 7 tackles on Wednesday night in his first game with his new team

Damian Williams, WR, Titans - 5 catches for 33 yards

Former teammates Brian Cushing and Reggie Bush went facemask-to-facemask.
