Orange to Watch: Senior QB Ryan Nassib

Thumbnail image for Nassib-Ryan.jpgAfter week one, he leads the nation in passing yards by torching Northwestern for 470 yards and 4 TDs.  He was solid against the Trojans last year too (25/37 for 230 yards 1 TD/0 INT) albeit in a losing effort.  Lane Kiffin emphasized putting the veteran in third and long to limit his efficiency.

Robey's Tag Team Partner

Junior CB Nickell Robey will consistently lock down one side of the field or an opponent's top receiver, so veteran quarterbacks will try to pick on the other starting cornerback.  With Torin Harris potentially returning this week, the competition is on with veterans Anthony Brown and Brian Baucham as well as freshman Kevon Seymour.  Nassib will test all of them.

Diversify

Just a few miles from Wall Street, the Trojans offense can improve its portfolio by finding a running game that was missing for most of the opener.  Kiffin publicly challenged his offensive line this week and expects them to respond with a physical, grinding effort to pave the way for Silas Redd and Curtis McNeal.

Happy Birthday Barks

USC QB Matt Barkley turns 22 on game day.  What better way to celebrate than lead the Trojans to another victory.  The Heisman frontrunner is hoping that this is the first of two trips to New York this season.

We will return next week with a media member's take on the game, but here is last night's Friday Night Video...
