USC football sits atop the preseason AP Top 25 for the first time since 2007. The Trojans received 25 of a possible 60 first place votes in the initial poll to slot ahead of Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma and Oregon.
The last time USC was tops in the AP Poll during the season was September of 2008 before the Thursday night loss at Oregon State.
