Track and field athlete and current USC student, Bryshon Nellum, has been named to carry the United States flag for the Closing Ceremonies of the 2012 London Olympic Games this Sunday.

During his freshman year at USC, Nellum was a victim of a random gunshot attack to his legs. The injury forced Nellum to miss the 2009 season and most of the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Nellum completed the entire 2012 season and is the reigning Pac-12 champion in the 400m dash. He also led the 4x400m relay team to second-place at the 2012 NCAA Championships

Nellum (pictured left) and the USA men's 4x400m relay team won silver, finishing in 2:57.05. He also competed in the men's 400m dash and placed ninth with a time of 45.02.
