Comparison - USC's recent safeties have been long and strong like T.J. McDonald, Taylor Mays and Darnell Bing. Bowman is much more stocky in the physical mold of Kevin Ellison.
Prep Career - Bowman went to high school in Philadelphia, where he played running back and safety. He blossomed last year as the No. 1 junior college player in the country as ranked by Rivals.com.
Fall Camp - He has the reputation as an excellent tackler, but the lack of physicality at USC practice has kept him from showing off. However, he did make a highlight play to force an interception in the second Coliseum scrimmage.
To Quote Bowman - "Every day I have to pinch myself. This is really happening. I'm out here competing with the best guys and the people that have been here before me were the best of the best."
