Immediately after the news broke, Matua's Trojan teammates took to Twitter to pour out their love, prayers and memories of No. 51.  Ryan Kalil, the center who played next to Matua, posted an old quote from his fallen linemate.

"I can't change.  Same volume, every day.  Loud.  You've got to be loud.  Being loud puts pressure on yourself." - Fred Matua (1984-2012)
