As USC student-athletes march up the tunnel leading out of the John McKay Center, before they reach the Trojan Sword, they pass under an arch bearing an ancient Greek inscription. When translated, the inscription reads, "Sound Mind in a Sound Body."
The famous maxim is pulled from a quote by the philosopher Aristotle, "Education is the process of creating sound mind in a sound body."
Whether it is athletics or education, to achieve the desired result, one must put in the proper preparation as a foundation for success.
