Three-Wide

Robert Woods...Marqise Lee...Nelson Agholor...

If there are enough receptions to go around, Lane Kiffin's offense could have three consecutive Freshman All-American wide receivers.  Judging by what he has seen during offseason workouts, the elder Woods believes the neophyte Agholor is more than capable of being the next in line.

Agholor-Presser.jpg"Wow, this kid's got it," Woods said to himself and then Michael Lev of the OC Register after a throwing session last week.  "He might be ahead of me [as a freshman], as of right now. He's making a lot of plays out here already, and he's already lining up in the right position."

Woods continues to watch from the sidelines, while recovering from ankle surgery, but he put the whole receiving corps on notice that the new kid is coming up from behind.

"I was already saying, 'Third wide, third wide.' We were telling the guys [to] step it up. You've got Nelson coming up. Spring was you guys' time. Now fall comes, it's Nelson's time."

While Woods and Lee are locked into the starting spots, Agholor is likely to compete with George Farmer, Victor Blackwell and De'Von Flournoy at the third receiver position.
