For the first time, the Pac-12 invited two players from each football program to join the head coach for Media Day, so All-American safety T.J. McDonald got to experience the west coast car wash.
McDonald was able to enjoy the day with his brother Tevin, a cornerback at UCLA. The brothers, who do not smile in photos (see right), have a great respect and fondness for one and other.
Tevin on his older brother: "Being able to play and learn from him and call him my brother is a blessing to me."
The family ties run even deeper as both boys also paid tribute to their Trojan All-American father.
T.J. on his dad: "He has been extremely involved [in my success]. I have the opportunity to turn to the guy that has done it all."
Finally, T.J. has always expressed a respect for the great defensive back legacy at USC, which of course features Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, who will broadcast games on Pac-12 Networks.
McDonald on potentially becoming the first Trojan to win the Lott Impact Trophy: "For me to win that award would mean a lot. Ronnie Lott has meant a lot to me and to USC."
