If ever a headline fit...
Jordan Hershiser, the son of Orel Hersheiser, was drafted in the 34th round today by the Los Angeles Dodgers, the franchise for which his father won the 1988 World Series MVP and Cy Young.
The younger Hershiser is an imposing figure at 6'8" 245 lbs., but he has not been able to stay healthy at Troy. He appeared in just 21 games during his USC career, including five relief appearances last year. He can forgo signing with the Dodgers and return to USC as a redshirt senior if he so chooses.
Jordan grew up on major league baseball fields with his famous father, who now broadcasts for ESPN.
