Disappointing End

USC men's golf had the highest hopes hosting the NCAA Championships at local Riviera Country Club, but the Trojans failed to meet expectations and missed the cut after three rounds of medal play.

Riviera-USC-Flag-PC.jpg"We had a tough day, but the tougher the course, the better we've got to be," USC head coach Chris Zambri said. "In the fairways, on the greens, around the hole. In the end, we just need to be better. The guys had a good year and we accomplished some good things, but we need to be better."

Senior Steve Lim, who shot a 2-under 69, was the only Trojan on his game Thursday.  He ended his career finishing in a tie for 13th in the overall individual standings.

"Steve looked great today," Zambri praised his lone senior. "I walked with him all three days this tournament. He was almost flawless today."

The Trojans return four of five starters next season as they continue to pursue the program's first national championship.
